Pay-for-Performance
Pay for performance, also known as "P4P" or “value-based purchasing,” is an emerging trend that uses economic incentives to encourage health care providers to focus on getting the best outcomes.
Pay for performance programs are data-driven. Health Care Excel has the ability to capture and calculate quality and performance measures for both federal and payer-specific incentive programs. Solutions include measure specification, data collection tools, measure reliability, feasibility testing, database auditing, and recommendations. Results include the increased use of electronic clinical data and the generation of more actionable reports for quality improvement. The HCE staff work closely with health care providers in identifying and resolving issues that may impact performance measurement, allowing health care organizations to enhance data collection to demonstrate improved clinical performance and earn financial incentives.
