Network Administrator
Responsibilities:

Provide administration of the network systems.

Establish and ensure compliance with network policy, procedures, and network security.

Maintain security standards, policies, and procedures for anti-virus software, firewall systems, e-mail systems, system back-ups, and user accounts.

Perform installation configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of server, workstation, and laptop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

Recommend, plan, and execute upgrades of both hardware and software.

Develop SQL database security standards and guidelines.

Develop and implement SQL database replication, archiving, and backup and recovery strategies.

Determine and recommend hardware requirements and perform storage capacity planning for production servers and laptops for scalable database growth.

Monitor databases for resource utilization and initiate corrective action to ensure database servers meet processing requirements.

Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.

Serve as a helpdesk to staff members and clients.

Maintain a log of issues, track conclusion, and document user profiles and updates.

Monitor, maintain, and manage VoIP phone system.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information systems required, or three to five years equivalent job experience.

MCSE, MCP, CCNA, A++ Certifications preferred.

In-depth knowledge of Windows 2000, XP desktop Windows 2000, 2003 server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Microsoft SharePoint, and Team Server.

Extensive experience in administering and managing local and wide area network environments including network switches, firewalls, and routers.

Knowledge of network and routing protocols and VoIP is desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA data security standards, a plus.
