Benefits Specialist
Responsibilities :

Responsible for daily administration of Health Care Excel (HCE) and Q Mark benefit plans to include, Health, Dental, Life, Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), 401(k), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Supplemental Life policies.

Ensure plan enrollments are processed.

Maintain follow-up to enrollment meetings to ensure timely submission of documents.

Stay informed of legal issues and benefit program updates.

Communicate trends and recommendations to Manager, Employee Relations.

Communicate Plan changes to employees

Provide payroll deduction information to Payroll Specialist.

Conduct analysis of benefit provider services and prepare census information for contract negotiation process.

Provide comparison studies of various options for coverage to incorporate features which are both cost effective and competitive.

Analyze claims information to determine services that are most used and services that are most abused.

Maintain an up-to-date benefit participation report and quarterly analysis report.

Conduct employee relations programs to include the United Way Drive, on-site flu shots, and other organized events that will aide in maintaining a friendly work environment.

Arrange for provider presentations when appropriate to successfully educate the workforce on various benefit provisions, such as the value of 401(k) Plan participation.
Requirements:

Four-year degree in personnel management, business administration, or a related field.

Three years experience in an appropriate setting.

Knowledgeable of the procurement and administration of employee benefits a must.

Expertise in word processing and spreadsheet software essential.
